YG’s WINNER talks about being on stage for BIGBANG’s Japan Tour: "Nervous + Overwhelmed"

YG Entertainment’s newest boy group WINNER took part as the opening band in BIGBANG’s Japan’s 6 largest Dome Tour. And they were ready to talk about their first performance experience in such large-scale.

According to YG, WINNER performed at BIGBANG’s concert held on Nov 16, and after they left the stage joined by a huge cheering from the Japanese fans, they commented, “We were nervous that we could make mistakes, but was able to wrap up the performance with overwhelmed hearts.”

WINNER told more details of their performance after leaving the stage, “The parts that leave us with regret is that we were too nervous of making mistakes at BIGBANG’s concert, and we were worried that we would be overpowered by the sheer size of the stage. But we were able to end it with really overwhelmed hearts.”

And on their future direction, they said, “Starting off from today’s performance, we will return with better performances, and this will be a source of motivation to work harder,” while exchanging encouraging words with each other.

YG related personnel explained, “When WINNER arrived at Japan’s Haneda Airport on Nov 15, more than 300 local fans were there to greet him. Their popularity was as visible as that of other Korean Wave, or Hallyu stars.”

WINNER departed for Japan on Nov 15 to perform at the opening stages of BIGBANG, who will be starting their Dome Tour from Saitama Seibu Dome on 16th and 17th, to Osaka Kyocera Dome, Fukuoka Yahoo Dome, Nagoya Dome, Tokyo Dome and then to Sapporo Dome.

WINNER, with members Kang Seung Yoon, Song Min Ho, Kim Jin Woo, Lee Seung Hoon and Nam Tae Hyun, is the final team of YG’s real survival program ‘WHO IS NEXT: WIN’. Performing for BIGBANG’s opening stage will help them accumulate some experience as artists, and they will be gearing for their debut soon.
