Korean singer Juniel wins Japanese version of American Idol
For the past 6 months, Japan’s version of American Idol (“Niji Iro Supernova“) has been in search for the best female vocalist. It seems they’ve found one in 18-year-old Korean singer Juniel.
The auditions were held by the famous Japanese music company EMI, as well as fashion magazine CUTiE. Juniel has been called the second Utada Hikaru, as the two will be label mates under EMI, so we can expect a bright future for the young star.
To fulfill her dreams of becoming a singer-songwriter, Juniel is said to have flown to Japan this past June in order to participate in the auditions. She is currently getting ready for her debut, as well as performing live in Japan’s indie scene.
